What to Expect at a Gong Bath Meditation
Sonic Spa Gong Bath Meditations provide regular sound therapy meditation sessions using the gong and other instruments, for groups and individuals in Andover, Hampshire, England.
If you have your first session upcoming, and would like to know more about what it will entail, you are in the right place!
We’ve broken down everything you need to know into the following frequently asked questions, but if there is anything that we haven’t covered, then do not hesitate to get in touch and ask.
What do you need to bring?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, and bring a pillow, blanket and water bottle. We will provide yoga mats and eye pillows.
When should you arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to sign in and get settled in a comfortable position. We advise against lots of rushed activity immediately before the session, so you can receive the most benefits from it. Please ensure mobile phones are switched OFF (not vibrate) during the session.
What happens if you fall asleep?
Don’t worry – lots of people do! We encourage you to be yourself in these sessions, and do whatever it is that you need to do to feel comfortable. Whether that is snoring, coughing, sneezing, laughing or crying – we want you to feel all of your emotions.
How will you feel during the session?
Well, each experience is individual. You may feel a sense of peace and relaxation, you may see colours or visualisations, you may get sensations or even emotions which may intensify for a few minutes before disappearing. You may experience a floating sensation, a healing pain, or a resistance to letting go or you may notice your mind racing and a difficulty in relaxing. We only recommend that you avoid coming to the session with a certain expectation – your journey is your own.
What happens at the end of the session?
Give yourself time to ease back into the day, to re-enter the noisy chaos of your life slowly and quietly. This is an opportunity to take care of yourself, so take it easy.
Here at Sonic Spa, we speak to all of our visitors who come to our Gong Baths to give information about what we do, discussing any potential issues they have, and checking in afterwards to see how they are all doing. We are the whole caring package and proud of it!
We can’t wait to see you!
